Today, 10 November, is the 236th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. If you see a Marine of any age today – or tomorrow at the Marietta Veterans Day parade – feel free to say “Happy Birthday Marine.” It means a lot to us.

Happy Birthday Marine! Thank you for your service to our great country. We'll toast this evening to the traditions of the Corps, which I've come to cherish as a "dependent." And more than ever, we'll toast the Devil Dogs who carry on, never, ever complaining. They'll always be my heroes.
