Br548 — It is very simple. Vote No, now! If this is postponed it won’t change the outcome of the plans or the outcome of the vote. Let’s put it on the ballot and be done with it.
Ol’ retired doc — This ghastly boondoggle needs to be scrapped and it needs to be done now.
FROM TEXAS — Yes this is the best idea yet. TIA stands for “Taxed into Alabama,” if the TIA or TSPLOST gets enacted you will a mass exodus to Tennessee and Alabama. Setzler is right this is flawed and is unconstitutional; there will be a board in place that will only answer to only ARC and the Chamber Mob.

ProJour — 10 years from now, we’ll be having the same conversation, just as we were having it 10 years ago. The situation is way to far out of hand; between the lack of funds and the lack of intestinal fortitude among our elected officials, the best we can hope for is a few more Band-Aids in a futile attempt to stem the hemorrhaging.
Homeownernextdoor — It takes a big person to admit rushing into the TIA might not be the best idea. Rich Golick is my rep, and I hope he is successful in his efforts. The phrase “do something, even if it’s wrong” should not be the prevailing mindset.
TIC — Precisely!! And moving forward with the TIA, as it is currently proposed, is the wrong thing to do. Of course, it may not be wrong for certain special interest groups that look at this as a golden opportunity to create their own little slush fund. Here’s hoping that Ed and Rick are successful in their efforts.
Evan Gammage — At this point, Setzler’s grasp of the situation is far better than anything else I’ve heard. Delay this boondoggle.
Cobb driver — We need to start battling against HOT Lanes on the interstates in Cobb right now. Gwinnett drivers were charged $5.45 do drive a few miles on 85. We need to start letting our representatives know that we will refuse to pay to drive on roadways. No toll roads!
Kennesaw Resident — How about we just scrap it completely?
SG11 — Setzler is a complete embarrassment to Cobb. Here is a person who voted for and approved a law requiring locally elected officials to follow a convoluted process and all within a region to get together and agree on a list of projects. Now he, his handler Bob Ott, Sharon Cooper, Rich Golick and the others want to stop the process for two years while they think on it again. I really hope the rest of the state delegation and the governor see this for what it is; a weak attempt to get face time in the news. They have already proven that they didn’t have the anatomy to solve the problem and we certainly have no faith that they can solve anything
SG68 — Seltzer is right. The legislature tried to provide a financial mechanism to address REGIONAL transportation and congestion issues. The TIA Roundtable screwed it up. Led by Kasim Reed and his gangstas in Atlanta they abused the flexibility built into the enabling legislation to try to fund local pet transportation projects that had little or no impact on regional transportation issues. (i.e. The Atlanta Beltline Trolley). The TIA Roundtable representatives from Cobb (Lee and Mathews) just exacerbated the whole situation with their nonsensical project list. At least this first run at the problem has exposed the villains. We will know who to watch out for the second time around.
Road Hard — I like how carefully thought-out is Rep. Setzler’s case and the proposed tweaks, problem is, metro area residents and the citizens of Georgia have already had to wait two years to be able to vote on mobility improvements for a better future. I see this as a strike-while-the-iron-is-hot opportunity and putting off the vote for another two years isn’t likely to result in a near-term gain for our state and region’s economic competitiveness. We need to be turning dirt in 2014, not casting votes for improvements that only our grandchildren will enjoy. Accelerate Mr. Setzler’s legislation, don’t throttle TSPLOST.
