Can anyone explain to me why there were different Republican and Democratic questions on the ballot? The issues voted on impact all Georgians -- e.g., "Should Georgia have casino gambling with funds going to education?" (Republican only) and "Should Georgia adopt an income tax credit for home energy costs to support the economic security of our

families?" (Democratic only)

Why aren't we calling out the nutjob Marietta citizen who sued for alcohol sale re-vote for unincorporated Cobb? He was a senior member of some local whackjob ministry if I recall correctly and acting a spoiler.

He wasted a lot of county money. What a crock.

Because his actions were correct. While I don't agree at all with his wanting to continue the sales ban, he was absolutely correct in his assertion that he didn't get to vote. Just because he lives in the city limits of Marietta does not mean he does not get to vote in a Cobb County election. The same thing happened to residents of Kennesaw, Acworth, and other cities. It would be similar to being allowed to vote for something in Georgia, but then NOT being allowed to vote for the same thing in a national election. People should be allowed to vote in ALL elections that they entitled to vote in. That is why most knowledgeable people aren't upset with the new vote. He didn't waste the money, the Cobb County election officials (or whoever created the original vote) wasted our money.

Why are Lisa Hanson's allegations toward David Banks for school board taken as fact? I read a lot of her allegations and not one of them could be substantiated. I did not think Cobb County Republican party would turn to the Chicago way of politics. Cobb County needs to wake up to the Liberal Dems disguising themselves as Republicans. Lisa and her supporters are not Republicans with values, just look at her campaign. Our kids do not need another Obama and how he spouts lies about someone and the media just takes it as fact and does not research first. Someone needs to look into who Lisa has in her pocket at the MJD. Our kids deserve someone really wants to make sure the public school teach values not how to lie and get away with it.

Please ask David Banks to return the 700 signs he tore down or destroyed, then we can talk.

I don't think the school board would be looking into the censuring of Mr. Banks if they did not have actual facts to back up all the ethics violations he has made. Your really reaching Mr. Banks...

Not to mention that he put signs ALL over East Cobb when only the folks up in Northeast Cobb that have him as their school board guy could vote for or against him. It's ridiculous and I am stunned that he still managed to get elected again. Time to retire that old fellow.

They only have mentioned Pope and Lassiter as part of Banks area...Sprayberry is also represented by Banks. Those of us who have split representation (Banks for Sprayberry High and Angelucci for Bells Ferry Elem and Daniell middle)did not get to vote - whether for Banks or Hanson - it wasn't on the ballots at Bells Ferry/ Daniell voting places.

Try having those 2 as your representation....

I think, if the vote were taken to a run off, that most people who primarily went to vote on July 31 to voice about TSplost, would not vote. Banks would be O-U-T, out! Too many uneducated (understandably) and uninformed voters. If you don't know the candidates, don't vote for the office. If you don't have a dog in the fight, don't vote. And, by all means, if you are 73 years old, just RETIRE or go talk to people at Walmart.

To Concerned Father, worry not your mind. Lisa is DEFINITELY not a democrat.

You 'said it first', Gringo Bandito. Doesn't matter to me that the alcohol on Sunday passed, but, watch out for those DUI's and domestics...and, remember, the County Commission keeps trying to make cutbacks to public safety... There now will be more folks on the highways toasted when you leave church or wherever it is you go on Sundays... Check the statistics for who in any race and sex gets involved with most alcohol related incidents all of the time. Tune in for more!!
