Mr. E. F. "Ham" Hamby, 73, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Doug Lusk and Rev. Charles Ray officiating. Interment will follow in the Mayes Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Hamby was a retired superintendant in the construction business and a member of Carpenters Union Local 225. He attended Crossroads of Life Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and traveling. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shirley Hamby; children, Wendie (David) Yancy of Jasper, Lisa (David) Hawkins of Canton and Randall (Diane) Hamby of Canton; brothers, David Hamby, Hoover Hamby and Larkin Hamby all of Acworth; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Abigail, Michael and Laura; great-grandchildren, Eli, Madison and Hopelynn.
